Updates from "He's Gotta Go"

Image
1. Our PAC was renamed to "He's Gotta Go" to comply with some regulatory requirements. 2. We  terminated the PAC with the end of the 2020 election cycle. 3. We made a difference. RoKhanna's vote share dropped by almost 5% from 2018, in spite of this election being extremely polarized because of President Trump. 4. Ro Khanna's has started showing some signs of empathy for the people who supported him. For example he finally recognized the 1971 Bengal genocide, where up to 3 Million people, mostly Hindu, were murdered by the West Pakistani Army. We are encouraged by the small steps he took, and hope he champions for all fair & just causes. Thank you all who supported us, and also to those who challenged us.  We are all working to make the world better, and that included making our elected representatives accountable, both for their commissions and omissions.

Ro: The Progressive Who Remains Silent

Image
Ro Khanna has projected himself as the leader of the Progressive faction of the Democratic Party. He also joined the Congressional Pakistan Caucus in 2019, after meeting with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan. While joining the Caucus he expressed interest to  tackle terrorism, and protect women’s rights and human rights. What has shocked us is his complete silence on the rampant systemic and institutionalized abuse of religious and ethenic minorities in Pakistan, especially the women. And this silence continued even after 230 organizations hand-delivered a letter to him to consider his stance. In this post we will give examples of the kind of persecution Ro Khanna turns a blind eye too. Most of these events occurred in 2020; they are representative of continuous institutionalized persecution and abuse. Restore Integrity in Our Politics

Image
Our country is at a critical juncture where the lack of integrity in our leaders in Washington DC is affecting us all.  Let us tell you about one integrity deficient leader, who we voted to power. He misrepresented  US Presidents, twice ; Clinton (2004) and Obama (2014). He falsely suggested that he had the Presidents’ endorsements, only to have the Presidents endorse his opponents; something which rarely happens in Primary contests. He now identifies as a crusader against PACs. However, he was assisted by a Super PAC which  spent about $1,300,000  to help him win the contest against their Democratic Opponent, whose funding came primarily from small donors.  He made a written pledge to us that he will not support race based discrimination or preferences (SCA5/ACA5/Prop-16). He did a  complete U-Turn  and now support Prop-16; and He did it without any reach-out to us, while falsely claiming that he was always in support. That integrity-deficient leader is our Congressional Representati

PITO: Progressive in Talk Only

Image
Ro is a PITO: Progressive in Talk Only What exactly has Ro Khanna  delivered to earn his progressive credentials? Is it good enough for a leader to talk about progressive issues? Or do we expect them to make demonstrable progress on these issues? What does his history speak about his effectiveness and commitment to progressive causes? Campaign Finance: Hypocrisy on PACs Ro Khanna spares no opportunity to remind us that he does not take PAC money. What he forgets to mention is that during his primary battle with Mike Honda, a PAC supporting him, Californians for Innovation , spent about $1.3M between 2014-2016. His Congressional district CA-17 has a Cook Partisan Voting (Cook PVI) of +25 in favor of the Democratic Party. As the incumbent he can breeze through the election in CA-17 without his campaign requiring PAC support.  Campaign Finance: The $50M Money-Bag In his outreach, Ro projects himself as a person who truly cares about the marginalized and the poor; and that he will not ac

An Open Challenge to Ro Khanna

Did Ro Really Misrepresent Presidents? After the publication of our article " Ro's Presidential Misrepresentations "multiple entities have reached out to us, asking us to provide more evidence about the Presidential misrepresentations falsely implying endorsements by Presidents Clinton (2004) and Obama (2014). We have sourced that article from a blog post  published on March 26, 2014. The blog Down with Tyranny  continues to be active; with many articles published in the month of September 2020 . The blog has a strong liberal and progressive bent, and an active twitter handle @downwithtyranny  ( Howie Klein ). Another left leaning blog, The Left Hook also shared the same story. 2004 Primary with Tom Lantos The blog article refers the February 28, 2004 edition of the San Mateo Times. Ro Khanna's sleazy character can be traced all the way back through all his endeavors in politics. In fact, the San Mateo Times disclosed that even when he ran for president of his studen

Wikileaks, Ro & Super PACs

Image
LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE: Wikileaks, Ro & Super PACs Ro Khanna repeatedly stresses that he will not take PAC money, and will work to reverse Citizens United or reduce its impact. Very Progressive Right? But what exactly is Ro's history with PACs? Californians for Innovation: Ro's Personal PAC During his campaign to unseat Mike Honda from CA-17, Ro Khanna himself relied on a PAC called Californians for Innovation . This was an independent Super PAC formed in support of Ro Khanna which helped him with almost $1.3 Million dollars in his primary fight against Mike Honda from 2014 to 2016. The Super PAC raised $790,000 for the 2014 campaign, and $506,381 for the 2016 campaign. The treasure for the Super PAC is Ash Chopra, a Wealth Manager with more than $3 Billion in assets, whose minimum new client size is $10 Million. More than half of the Super PACs expenditure was against Mike Honda.  The contributors to the Super PAC included many Silicon Valley VCs  ( 2014 , 2016 ). T

Ro's Presidential Misrepresentation

Image
LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE: Presidential Misrepresentation Many of us are finding it hard to reconcile with Ro Khanna violating the pledge he took to oppose race based discrimination (SCA5) and supporting ACA5, which is on the ballot as Prop16. Looking back at Ro's political career, we have observed a pattern of deception, and bold-faced misrepresentation. He was not afraid to fake endorsements by the President of the country; not once, but twice over a decade! President Clinton's Press Release: Ro Khanna vs Tom Lantos (2004) Ro Khanna ran against the Tom Lantos in the 2004 primaries for CA-12. In one of his mailer, he misrepresented comments President Clinton made to give an impression of an endorsement. In a strongly worded press release, President Clinton asserted that Ro Khanna had misled the voters and took the unusual step to endorse Congressperson Lantos.
